With a subtropical climate, an average of 248 sunny days a year, and some of the country’s most beautiful beaches, it’s no wonder people flock to Miami every month of the year. As the third-largest metro area on the East Coast, Miami has something for everyone, young and old alike. 

Colorful, diverse and exciting, this bustling Florida city packs a punch, from postcard-perfect Miami Beach and the trendy nightlife of South Beach, to the iconic architecture of the Art Deco Historic District and the vibrant feel of Little Havana, with its Latin-inspired restaurants, bakeries, cigar shops, rum bars and music venues. 

While Miami may be well known for its after-dark scene, the area is also an excellent place for families. Popular attractions include the Zoo Miami, the Miami Seaquarium and the Everglades Alligator Farm, where you can hop on an airboat to witness alligators in the wild. When the temperature heats up, families flock to area beaches and the fun-filled Tidal Cove waterpark which features waterslides, a surf simulator, a lazy river and a 4,000-square-foot kids’ area. Another great option is the Venetian Pool in nearby Coral Gables, an 820,000-gallon pool built in 1923 from a coral rock quarry and fed with spring water from an underground aquifer. 

To escape the crowds, visitors and locals alike channel their inner nature lover by kayaking at Oleta River State Park, birdwatching at Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center or strolling through the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.
