Attention, outdoor adventurers: Sun Valley, Idaho, is calling, and no matter the season, you’ll want to answer. Located in South-Central Idaho in the Northern Rockies, Sun Valley is an outdoor resort paradise that sits adjacent to the town of Ketchum. The resort includes two mountains: Bald Mountain (affectionately nicknamed “Baldy”) and Dollar Mountain. In the winter month, Bald Mountain offers an incredible array of ski runs for all skill levels. Dollar Mountain owns the distinction of being the home of the world’s very first chairlift and is the perfect place for beginners to learn to ski or snowboard.

While winter is undoubtedly peak travel season in Sun Valley, this mountain resort offers plenty of warm-weather activities as well. During the low-key summer months, visitors and locals alike can enjoy mountain biking, hiking, golf, tennis, horseback riding, fly fishing and much more.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, the village at the base of the mountain offers 20 restaurants and bars, including cozy watering holes, family-friendly dining establishments and venues perfect for celebrating special occasions. And did we mention the views?
